Since I have enjoyed most of the past films of the Coen brothers --Fargo, Raising Arizona, Blood Simple among others – and I am an “old man”, I thought I should see this film. It was tense, bloody and frightening, but, I am almost ashamed to say, left me wanting more. But really, the reason I wanted more wasn’t because I enjoy blood and violence, but because the film left a lot unanswered. It almost seemed like the pilot for a high quality TV series, like the first episode of the Sopranos. It opened a lot of story lines that go nowhere except in our minds because the title credits roll as we sit there staring at the screen our mouths agape and questions raising in our minds.

However, the film is very well done and had me nervous and uncomfortable the entire 2 hours and 2 minutes. While I warn you of extreme cold hearted violence, I have to give this film 3 ˝ pops out of 4.
