A recent college grad (Anne Hathaway playing Andy Sachs), with no sense of fashion, stumbles into a job for Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep ), the high profile editor of a high fashion magazine. With a lot of humor and pathos, the film takes us into the world of high fashion, big business and ambition. Along the way we learn about loyalty, compassion, and life’s more important priorities.

I went into the theater thinking this was strictly a chick-flick, and, though I am sure I missed more than half of the fashion related humor, it is more than that. Without being preachy it provides some excellent lessons for our modern times.

As you might expect, Meryl Steep did a great job as the demanding editor, but the film focuses on Andy Sachs, her career growth and the effects it has on her relationships.
