"Down from the Mountain" is a simple concert film, documenting a Nashville benefit concert featuring the music and musicians from the feature film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?".  Performers include: Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss, Dr. Ralph Stanley, and more.  If you like any of this sort of music then there's no reason to not like this. The film starts out with showing backstage preparation with some fascinating, as well as humorous, moments of the performers getting ready for the show.  Then the concert begins with most songs being performed by several of the musicians, helping each other out on harmony and instruments.

The songs from the movie soundtrack are performed as well as a few other songs from the same genre.  Gillian Welch is probably shown the most but the late John Hartford (he died back in June) almost steals the show with his playing and dry wit as he hosted the event.  For anyone who loved the music from the Coen Brothers movie, I highly recommend seeing this film concert.
