Based on a novel by MYSTIC RIVER author Dennis Lehane, this film was directed very well by Ben Affleck. Ben’s brother Casey plays an inexperienced private investigator with good knowledge of the neighborhood. At first Casey seemed way too young to me, but as the film moved on I was able to ignore his age and overall he played the character very well.

Set in a lower working class part of Boston, every thing else about the film is first class -- compelling story, good acting, and cinematography. This is the story of the search for an abducted child, about street justice and human frailty. I normally don’t like films in seedy locations, drug references and child endangerment, but this is such an interesting story, so well acted and directed I’m really glad I saw it.
